Uptown Kenosha Inc. with the collaborative partnership of Kenosha Community Health Center, My Sister’s House, Building Our Future and The Green Team Junk Removal, will present Neighborhood Clean-up efforts this Thursday, April 22nd, at 3:30p-5:30p. The clean up efforts will be a monthly effort taking place in Uptown Kenosha. We are proud to bring forth the Green Team Task Force to Uptown Kenosha area for its monthly efforts to clean up the neighborhood.
The “Clean-Up Task Force” was created in a Building Our Future monthly meeting by Uptown community members who want to serve Uptown Kenosha. With collaboration, the thought of monthly clean ups would help local businesses with exposure, enhance community ownership and attract new investors/ developers to Uptown Kenosha.
This event is a Free event and all are invited. The local agencies/businesses who came together are:
· Uptown Kenosha Inc. (UKI), a non-profit Business Association and accredited Connect Community with Mainstreet Wisconsin, will sponsor collaboration efforts
· The Dream Catcher’s Child Care Center, and local Uptown Kenosha Inc. Small business
· Building Our Future, non-profit collective impact initiative improving student outcomes in Kenosha
· My Sister’s House, non- profit, Community Service Agency
· Kenosha Community Health Center (KCHC), federally qualified health care center,
· The Green Team Junk Removal, a local waste management company
The group and its task force/volunteers will meet at Dream Catcher’s Child Care Center, 6410-25th Ave, to get assignments of blocks to be cleaned.
Bags and Gloves are donated from Uptown Kenosha Inc. and The Green Team Junk Removal. All Bags will be left on the corner of each street for The Green Team Junk Removal to collect after the pick-up. Slush Lounge, local Uptown Kenosha Inc. Business, is donating pizza to the volunteers. Kenosha Community Health Center will be giving away Care Bags to the first 50 volunteers. This is great for KUSD youth to gain community service hours as well.
This is a collective effort from our community to our community.
